Cod Liver Oil is a source of vitamins A and D in very easily digestible forms. Vitamin D affects not only calcium absorption and bone metabolism. It is an immunomodulator - it regulates the functioning of the immune system. Vitamin D receptors can be found on many different types of cells in the body, and for this reason, this compound is currently classified as having a pleiotropic effect - affecting many areas of the body. Cod liver oil also contains valuable unsaturated acids from the Omega 3 family. When combining it with Omega 3 oil, they should be counted together.

3. Who is Cod Liver Oil the best choice for?

Cod Liver Oil is an excellent choice, especially for dogs on a raw or cooked diet. It should be given especially to pregnant bitches, breastfeeding mothers, puppies during intensive growth, sports dogs, and animals with pancreatic diseases, weakened immunity, cancer or a predisposition to the development of such a problem.

4. Which oil should you choose for your puppy: Cod Liver Oil, Omega-3 or Krill Oil?

The puppy should be given Cod Liver Oil and Omega-3 Oil. The dose of Omega-3 unsaturated fatty acids is then counted from both sources together. Until the end of the 10-11th month of life, i.e. until the end of the growth of long bones, too high a supply of fluoride should be avoided. For this reason, you can use krill oil, but only at half the recommended dose, or start using it only after 11 months of age.

5. Which oils can be combined and for what purpose?
